CLASSICS:

J.R.R.TOLKIEN

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born on the 3rd of January 1892 and died on the 2nd of September 1973. He was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor, best known as the author of the classic high fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.
He served as the Rawlinson and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon at Pembroke College, Oxford, from 1925 to 1945 and Merton Professor of Englis Language and Literature at Merton College, Oxford from 1945 to 1959. He was at one time a close friend of C. S. Lewis—they were both members of the informal literary discussion group known as the Inklings. Tolkien was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II on 28 March 1972.


C.S. LEWIS


Clive Staples Lewis (29 November 1898 – 22 November 1963), commonly called C. S. Lewis and known to his friends and family as "Jack", was a novelist, poet, academic, literary critic, essayist, , and Christian apologist. Born in Belfast, Ireland, he held academic positions at both Oxford University (Magdalen College), 1925–1954, and Cambridge University (Magdalene College), 1954–1963. He is best known both for his fictional work, especially The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Space Trilogy, and for his non-fiction Christian apologetics, such as Mere Christianity, Miracles, and The Problem of Pain.

JEFF KINNEY


      Jeffrey Patrick "Jeff" Kinney (born February 19, 1971) is an American game designer, cartoonist, producer, actor and author of children's books including the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series. He is also attributed as the creator of the child-oriented website Poptropica.
      He also Kinney was born and grew up in Fort Washington, Maryland, United States. He had an older brother, an older sister and a younger brother.[1] He attended the University of Maryland at College Park in the early 1990s. It was in college that Kinney created the popular comic strip, Igdoof, that ran in the campus newspaper.






LINCOLN PEIRCE


Lincoln Peirce is the creator of the comic Big Nate, which debuted in 1991 and appears in 300 newspapers in the US and online daily at www.gocomics.com, and is featured on the website Poptropica, www.poptropica.com. He has also written several animated shorts for Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. A fan and collector of classic country music, Lincoln also hosts a local radio show devoted to honky tonk and western swing on WMPG.

In addition to the Big Nate comic strip, Lincoln is the author and illustrator of the New York Times bestselling Big Nate book series. His Big Nate books have been featured on Good Morning America and in the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, and the Washington Post. His released books in the series are Big Nate In A Class By Himself, Big Nate Strikes Again, Big Nate On A Roll, Big Nate Goes For Broke, and Big Nate Flips Out. He is currently working on the sixth book in the series, "Big Nate In The Zone."

Christopher James Paolini (born November 17, 1983, Los Angeles, California) is an American author. He is best known as the author of the Inheritance Cycle, which consists of the books Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr and Inheritance. He lives in Paradise Valley, Montana, where he wrote his first book.
